It’s hard to believe our 39th Season of producing live, professional theatre in Downtown Norfolk has come to a close. What a remarkable year! We can’t thank our patrons enough for helping make this season one for the record books, from increased attendance and engagement across the board to breaking box office records. You helped make it all happen.
This season exemplified our commitment to engaging thoughtfully with our Hampton Roads community. Our award-winning Black Light Puppet Theatre program and other accessibility initiatives connected with persons of all abilities, reinforcing the notion that theatre is for everyone. Post-performance salon discussions during Disgraced and The Parchman Hour provided patrons an opportunity to not only see our work, but to engage with fellow audience members about the stories being told. And thousands of students - many for the very first time - witnessed the excitement of attending a play at the Wells or participating in one of our school tours throughout our region.
